Michelle is a vocalist and composer in San Diego. She’s working on her first album of original songs, and sings contemporary songs and covers. Throughout college, she sang jazz and Bossa Nova songs, and now explores her own sound. She hopes to have new recordings up by October 2017. Michelle loves to entertain people, and has performed in large and small venues, in a variety of ensembles. She’s a strong believer in the power of music to heal, empower, and inspire. Since 2012, Michelle has been an active member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity. She was a member of the Iota Delta Chapter at San Diego State University until she graduated in 2015, and then affiliated with the San Diego County Alumnae Chapter. She most enjoys arranging music for SAI ensembles, performing in musicales, and being involved in service projects. sai-national.org
In the Fall of 2014, Michelle became involved with local non-profit, Resounding Joy. She trained as a Joy Giver and has assisted music therapists in music outreach settings. As a volunteer, she also loves supporting their events, large and small. resoundingjoyinc.org
Cancer advocacy is very important to Michelle. She’s a volunteer and advocate of Stupid Cancer, the largest charity serving the young adult cancer movement. To support their annual CancerCon event and the hundreds of young adults who attend each year, Michelle is on a mission to raise $2,200 for CancerCon 2018, Stupid Cancer’s premier cancer conference for young adults. The Sierra Club has played a huge role in Michelle’s life recently, as she became involved in the San Diego chapter this past January 2017.
